I just turned 60 and am thrilled to have reached this amazing milestone in my life! To celebrate, I decided to share my good fortune with those less fortunate. Can you IMAGINE never having a Birthday Party…never having a Birthday Cake…never receiving a Birthday Present – no friends and family celebrating with you? Things YOU and I take for granted.
Sad to say, there are thousands of children who have never had any of it! At World Emunah, one of Israel’s leading social action and welfare organizations, some of Israel’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children come to live. Removed from their homes by the social welfare system or court order due to physical, mental and/or sexual abuse; parental illness or death; and/or severe dysfunction and poverty, these children come to live in one of Emunah’s five residential Children’s Homes. Unfortunately, when they first come to an Emunah Home, they often are suffering from major PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and other mental and psychological issues. Emunah’s dedicated professionals and staff become the parent and families to these children, nurturing and loving them, helping them to heal and grow into confident, caring and healthy adults.
These children deserve to be LOVED - and given a chance to “Just be Kids.” Let’s YOU and I help them CELEBRATE their next BIRTHDAY by throwing them a Birthday Party with cake, ice cream & gifts.
