As most of you know, our community member Rabbi David Hatuel, suffered a horrific tragedy that of losing his home and entire family. In the space of a year, his wife Tali, who was at the end of her pregnancy, along with their four children, of blessed memory, were fatally shot near their home in Gush Katif, which he lost shortly afterwards due to the disengagement. David, continually faces the uphill climb of taking strides forward with an ever-present past. Nevertheless, David Hatuel,a supervisor for the Ministry of Education's southern district, a man of great endurance and stature, is an inspiration to us all.
To date, while the majority of those evacuated have rebuilt new homes and lives, the displaced members of Karmei Katif, after twelve years of unexpected delays are only now beginning to rebuild their long awaited homes.
David is very excited and honored to build the Synagogue in the name of Tali and her four daughters, of blessed memory, for the Karmei Katif community, located in the Negev’s eastern Lachish region. In addition to private donations, the project is being financed by the Israeli government, and the residents of Karmei Katif
