Freedom of expression is the cornerstone of democracy.
Freedom of expression in Israel is under fire! So far during 2017, fundamental freedoms in Israel have been deeply eroded and anti-democratic initiatives have been advanced by senior elected officials:
- Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu seeks legislation to restrict the capacities of civil society and human rights organizations from carrying out their work
- Minister of Culture Miri Regev has threatened to cut funding from cultural institutions that do not align with her values
- Minister of Education Naftali Bennett has removed various cultural works from the approved curricula because of so-called controversial content
We need to raise $10,000 to continue to confront these initiatives and secure freedom of expression in Israel
Your contribution will enable ACRI to:
1. Combat anti-democratic initiatives that violate the fundamental freedoms of all Israelis, including their rights to speak, assemble and demonstrate
2. Take legal action against violations of the right to free speech, expression, and protest
3. Effect policy changes to protect freedom of speech, expression and protest
Support ACRI and stand up for freedom of expression in Israel.
