Asylum seekers arrived in Israel 5-10 years ago, they built lives here, learnt Hebrew, got jobs. Their children go to school with Israeli children where they sing Hatikva, dress up on Purim and eat apples and honey on Rosh Hashanna. Now the government is planning to deport them all - not to their home countries, but to another country in Africa just for them to become refugees on the run in search of safety all over again.

Before the Israeli government carries out a mass deportation we are going to put up a fight like you have never seen before. But we need your help. Please donate to save the lives of asylum seekers in Israel, before its too late.

You donation will go directly towards;

  1. Providing legal and para-legal representation to protect individuals from deportation
  2. Providing psycho-social support to the asylum seeker community in this time of great need
  3. Expanding our public outreach work including;
    - Creating informational materials about the dangerous consequences of deportation
    - Printing posters, flyers, banners and organizing protests for Israelis to express opposition to the deportation
    - Providing briefings and interviews to the Israeli and international media

We are planning the fight of our lives, because all of our research shows – deportation to Rwanda is a life or death kind of situation.

On January 1st the Ministry of Interior announced that starting in February asylum seekers would begin receiving notices that they have 60 days to leave the country or enter jail. On January 2nd the Ministry of Public Security received a mass transfer of funds to carry out the plan. The Immigration Authority issued a detailed procedure, detailing that women and children would be exempt – but only for now. On January 3rd Netanyahu announced that he was no longer sure if jail would be a good option, and that he would investigate the possibility of putting people on planes in handcuffs.

We can not let this happen. The tides are turning. Authors have opposed the deportation, academics have opposed the deportation, doctors, diplomats and even Holocaust survivors. Pilots have refused to take part in flying out deportees The pressure is mounting, but we need to keep it up. Please donate to save the lives of asylum seekers in Israel, before its too late.
